Varun Dhawan to 'shock' audiences now?

He danced, laughed, romanced and kicked, all in quick succession, in his recent release MAIN TERA HERO. Then he traveled across the country to promote the film. Now, after a mini-break, Varun Dhawan is all set to begin shoot of his next film.

It is a dark thriller by Sriram Raghavan, who would be stepping back into direction after AGENT VINOD. Making a film of this genre comes naturally to him, as was seen in his earlier works JOHNNY GADDAAR and EK HASEENA THI.

Apparently, Varun is playing a twin role by stepping across generations.

"Well, for obvious reasons I can't reveal too much about the film or the plot or the characterization. All I can say is that the film as well as my character is going to shock a lot of people out there. Expect the unexpected," says Varun.

No wonder, Varun is mighty kicked about the movie; more so since it is a complete shift from what he has done in MAIN TERA HERO or for that matter STUDENT OF THE YEAR. From a feel good world of Karan Johar and David Dhawan films, he would be making a complete departure.

Admitting that he is exhausted both physically and mentally after the grill he had to go through for MAIN TERA HERO, Varun says that the core concept of this yet untitled film by Sriram is so powerful that he is raring to go.

"In fact I started prepping for it even when the promotion of MAIN TERA HERO was on. I have to seep in the character quite early as we go on floors this month itself," says Varun.
