Taapsee Pannu: I used to defend Karisma Kapoor saying that she is the best actress

Taapsee Pannu, last seen in Akshay Kumar starrer BABY, has replaced ROCKSTAR babe Nargis Fakhri in a skincare brand endorsement deal. "Yes I have signed a skincare brand for next two years. I do know the name that you have taken was there before me. Technically, you may call it replacing but the fact is that she had a tenure which got over. And when I was approached for it, I joined in," confirms Taapsee.

Taapsee feels brand endorsements give you a scope to reach to a wider audience. She says, "I have always been keen on promoting brands and it's beneficial. I feel endorsements provide a chance to the actors to get closer to the audience because TV has bigger approach than movies. Films just come twice or thrice in a year. However, brands help to form an image and audiences also easily connect with it."

But Taapsee won't just blindly sign brand endorsement deals. "I will not sign all the brands that come my way. I want to endorse products that reflect the age I belong to, which I truly believe in. Because if I go associating with all the products, people start looking up to you and believing you in a certain way. They adore you and will go on your words."

Ask Taapsee as a child if she too crazily followed any celebrity went ahead and acquired the brand and she recollects, "I faintly remember I used to buy the same candy brand, which actress Karisma Kapoor used to endorse."

She further reveals about her fondness for Karisma Kapoor. "I was a big fan of Karisma. In fact, I used to every time defend her saying that she is the best actress. I have even danced on her songs in parties and get-togethers."

Though Taapsee was an ardent fan of Karisma, she never really followed in her steps closely or even imitated her. "Today, as an actress I have to try my own approach instead of imitating anyone. Today when I watch the movies, I don't look it that way as I used to in my childhood days. If I start looking at other actresses with that admiration, then I will start copying them," says the no-nonsense actress.

Meanwhile, Taapsee is waiting for her upcoming film AGRA KA DAABRA to go on floors soon.
