Stephen Colbert Talks Letterman Takeover on the ‘Late Show’ (Video)

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss?

Stephen Colbert — who'll take over “Late Show” duties from David Letterman when Letterman retires next year — dropped in on the CBS late-night show Tuesday to discuss his plans for the show's future.

Colbert's (presumably joking?) strategy? Keep everything exactly the same.

“I'm gonna do whatever you have done,” the “Colbert Report” host tells Letterman.

“No, you don't want to do that,” Letterman cautions.

“It seems to have gone pretty well, Dave,” Colbert replies.

“It's gone on,” Letterman offers, a hint of world-weariness in his voice.
