Ranveer Singh got 6-pack abs in 6 weeks reveals Kris Gethin! Read how

We may think Ranveer was always in good shape right from the time he entered Bollywood. But the ‘Gunday’ actor did go out of shape after a back injury. This was just before his film ‘Ram-Leela’ which required him to have a ripped physique. This is when Kris Gethin came into the picture. The fitness trainer who helped Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham bulk up with his DTP method, is out with a new book titled ‘Bollywood Body By Design’. Here’s an excerpt from the book wherein he talks about how Ranveer’s body was transformed.

Ranveer Singh’s transformation showed that even when I couldn’t be on hand to oversee a transformation, the principles at the heart of this book hold true. That’s because with my responsibilities to Hrithik and then John, I simply couldn’t give another client the time and dedication that I require of myself. If I was going to help him, I’d need somebody else to run the day-to-day show. Read how Kris Gethin transformed his physique.

Over the last few years, I’ve been working to train up an elite set of fellow personal trainers in the techniques I have been refining during my time in India. One of these trainers was Lloyd Stevens—also from the United Kingdom. I had seen during his training just how much passion and gut determination he had. He took to my style instinctively and I felt confident that he would be a fantastic practitioner of the principles.

When Ranveer got in touch to ask whether I could help him, my immediate reaction was to reluctantly decline. But then I got thinking as to whether there was somebody else who could offer Ranveer the quality of transformation he wanted. Lloyd sprung to mind and I got in touch to see whether he was up for the challenge. I would offer my indirect guidance but for a freshfaced trainer from England, this would be his big opportunity to work with one of Bollywood’s booming talents. Ranveer was preparing for his lead role in Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Stardom was a relatively new experience forRanveer and when he injured his back whilst filming Lootera, another blockbuster, he was left in a negative spiral notdissimilar to Hrithik’s. When you are surrounded by adoringfriends and fans, it can be hard to realise that you’re lettingyour body slip from its physical potential. Unfortunately for Ranveer, that was the reality and he needed our support to get back to his best.

I’m glad to say that Lloyd jumped at the chance. Moving to the other side of the world for your first big gig is daunting but he had the right attitude. Opportunities like that don’t come often and he recognised that I was putting enormous faith in him to put Ranveer into his hands. He came prepared, ready for the fight and with the knowledge and expertise that somebody of Ranveer’s stature required. Kris reveals how to get six-pack abs.

Immediately he was able to overhaul Ranveer’s lifestyle and diet. Breaking each part down and building it back together – clean. As you’ll see throughout this book, unless you set aside the time to look after your body, you won’t even understand what is causing it distress. Whether you are an actor or a businessman, working every hour of the day you can get, your well-being can slip further and further down a list of priorities.

Ranveer’s back injury aside, there were no major complications with his health so the plan devised was a simple one. Back to basics, strict dieting with lean protein and controlled fats and carbohydrates. This coupled with the right pattern of weight training allowed Lloyd and Ranveer to surge to incredible results.

The real difficulty for Lloyd was how to find a way to fit in Ranveer’s balanced diet, training and sleep into a filming schedule that at times had Ranveer shooting non-stop for 24 hours. Read how Lloyd got Ranveer in shape.

The training itself began as the filming was underway. When they started, the director had Ranveer’s shirt buttoned up and the training was designed to get him looking good and confident with the shirt unbuttoned. With each of the transformations I have undertaken in India I have been astounded at the pace and quality that has been possible. The idea that Indian diets or physiques are unable to achieve ‘Western’ results has been blown out of the water completely. In fact, the dedication and focus demonstrated from Hrithik through to every one of my other clients has been astounding. Ranveer was no exception. Lloyd didn’t hit the 12 week timeline for transformation that had been planned. He absolutely smashed it into pieces. Ranveer’s body flew through the stages and their partnership saw a complete transformation complete within just six weeks. An astonishing achievement for a fledgling trainer.
