Aejaz Gulab, who started out as a stuntman in Bollywood, did body doubles for many big stars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and was an action director on films like SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA, turned director with AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 on Ram Gopal Varma's (RGV) suggestion.

"I was assisting RGV on AGYAAT and after that he was looking forward to make sequel to his film AB TAK CHHAPPAN. However, for some reason he couldn't begin. Later, when I was working on his film RAKHTA CHARITRA, it was during at that time he came to me and suggested me to turn director. He asked me to direct AB TAK CHHAPPAN sequel," shares the debutant director.

However, RGV was not involved in the making of the film. Aejaz says further, "Though he handed over the project to me, RGV never got involved in it. Since he was busy with some other work, he offered the film to me. He had complete faith and confidence in my directorial skills. As most of the RAKHTA CHARITRA scenes were directed by me, he believed that I would do justice to the project."

Aejaz feels AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 is the sequel in truest sense. "These days where filmmakers change the entire story, setting and star cast for the sequel, I have carried forward the story in AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2, without tweaking it. My film is well connected with the first part. I have even retained the original stars. On the contrary, there has been addition to the star cast of the film. Vikram Gohkale, Ashutosh Rana and Gul Panag have been added to the team," says the director.

AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2, starring Nana Patekar, releases all over today.
