Ireland Baldwin Enters Rehab for 'Emotional Trauma'

Ireland Baldwin is not in rehab for the reason you think, thank you very much.

The model daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin commented Monday on a Radar Online report that her family had forced her to check into a rehab center in Malibu, California, over the weekend. The 19-year-old took to Twitter to shoot down the story: "Apparently I'm in rehab for intensive partying soooo I'm just going to lay pretty low for a bit and maybe get some frozen yogurt." She added, "'Intensive partying' haha."

A source close to the model tells The Insider With Yahoo, "This is not drug related. Ireland has been through some stressful and negative situations in her life recently and has taken the proactive approach to getting things back on track."

Ireland explained the real reason as to why she checked into the SOBA Recovery Center.

Just Jared reported that Baldwin chose SOBA, which specializes in psychological disorders and addiction, because she already has a relationship with the facility.

"The establishment that Ireland checked into is where a lot of people in her family have gone to get sober," a source revealed. "She's known the people there for a long time and they're like family to her. She needed a safe place to stay and get away for awhile and now she's receiving the intensive therapy and treatment she needs." That family includes Ireland's uncle, Daniel, who has been in and out of rehab several times.

The insider also cited Baldwin's hospitalization just last week for cervical cysts and her recent breakup with longtime girlfriend Angel Haze as stressors. And we don't want to speculate, but it's worth noting that Ireland was famously called a "rude, thoughtless little pig" by her father in a voicemail that was leaked to the press when she was just 11 years old.

In 2013, she addressed that moment in her past: "I am proud to be my parent's daughter, but I don't want to forever be known as 'that rude thoughtless little pig' or 'Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's kid,'" she said in a Tumblr post. "I have passions and interests of my own that I want to soon give life to. I want to be known for helping others and being a healthy role model."

So far, Ireland's parents have stayed mum on the matter. A source told The Insider With Yahoo, "Ireland has the full support of her family and friends who are extremely proud that she has taken matters into her own hands as the strong woman that she is."
