There has always been something about Scarlett that makes us, well, stare—men and women alike!

Actress Scarlett Johansson has already made a name for herself, an icon to say the least. She has appeared in numerous films—four of which (Lost In Translation, A Girl With A Pearl Earring, A Love Song For Bobby Long and Vicky Cristina Barcelona) has earned her Golden Globe nominations. But apart from her acting, there has always been something about Scarlett that makes us, well, stare—men and women alike! They say it’s the sex appeal but it’s definitely more than that. We deem it’s the confidence she has on and off the red carpet. She has that self-assured demeanor that women aspire to and that men find challenging. And men always are attracted to a good challenge.  Yahoo sits down with the actress and latest Dolce & Gabbana ambassador for an exclusive interview to talk about fashion, glamour and what it’s like working with Interstellar’s Matthew McConaughey and Wolf of Wallstreet director Martin Scorsese for the new D&G campaign.

Yahoo: Are you happy with your fashion and style level at present? Do you feel you’ve evolved enough, or are you still exploring your style?
Scarlett: My own personal style is very classic and basic. As I've gotten older, I've learned the value of buying a few really fine pieces each season that I will always love and appreciate instead of a lot of trendy clothes that are disposable.

Y: What does it mean to be glamorous?
S: I think feeling glamorous is not just about what you are wearing but the confidence with which you wear it with. I've seen women dressed simply in black with a few accessories that are more glamorous and chic than many a red carpet look simply because of the strength and certainty in the stride. Glamour is about attitude as much as it is about style. That said, a red lip always adds a hint of glamour. Dolce & Gabbana’s Classic Cream Lipstick in Devil is my failsafe.

Y: Let’s talk about scents. Do you seek or wear a particular scent to suit an occasion or even a feeling?
S: I started wearing perfume when I was 13, but it was some awful flowery sample perfume that my mom had got as a gift with purchase. It wasn't until I was older that I really learned how to wear perfume. I usually keep several different perfumes that have become a sort of revolving signature scent. Dolce & Gabbana The One and The One Rose are two of my favourites. I like to match my perfume with my mood and outfit. During the day, I like to wear oils and at night, I switch to a perfume for a bolder impression.

Y: How was it working with Matthew McConaughey—and for the first time?
S: Working with Matthew was wonderful. He is such an avid professional and all around great guy who is very relaxed in his own skin. But my real dream come true was to work with Marty Scorsese. To collaborate with him on the valentine to the city that we both grew up in felt like the perfect match. Looking out over the city we both love, from a rooftop in downtown Manhattan and admiring the beauty of New York was a memory I will always cherish.
