Tina Fey-Amy Poehler Comedy to Face Off With New ‘Star Wars’

The Tina Fey-Amy Poehler sister comedy “The Nest” will open on Friday, Dec. 18, Universal Pictures said Tuesday.

That's the same day that Disney will open “Star Wars: Episode 7,” so the studio is clearly making a counter-programming play against the latest installment in the classic sci-fi series. Sony is rolling out the thriller “Inferno” that day as well.

Fey and Jay Roach are producing “The Nest,” which will be directed by Jason Moore (“Pitch Perfect”) from a script by Paula Pell (“30 Rock”). Poehler is executive producing.

It's about two disconnected adult sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their former classmates.
