Nora Aunor may have not bagged the National Artist title this year, but she won't let it bring her down.

Sa trabaho naman tayo," Nora said at the sidelines of the Cinemalaya Film Festival press conference on Wednesday, July 9.

More than enough

It will be recalled that President Noynoy Aquino told media he excluded Nora in the list of National Artists because of her drug-related charge in the US.

Nora said in a statement that she felt hurt, but the people's clamor (for her) and support  is more than enough for her.

Lawyer’s statement

Her lawyer, meanwhile, contradicted the President’s statements and told Philippine Daily Inquirer that "there was never a judgment of a conviction that was entered on the record.”

Nora feels overwhelmed at the support she has been getting from fans and fellow artists.

She spoke sparingly about her exclusion in the National Artist list.

The show goes on for her as she refuses to let the issue bring her down.

Hustisya role

Nora stars in the Cinemalaya entry "Hustisya," which is about a woman "working for a human trafficking agency."

"Hustisya,"  directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Ricky Lee, also stars Rocco Nacino, Rosanna Roces, Sunshine Dizon, Gardo Versoza, Chynna Ortaleza and Romnick Sarmienta.
