Miss Earth 2014: Miss India Alankrita Sahai

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?

Mankind is evolving at a rate hard to imagine. And oftentimes, technology evolves at the expense of our natural resources. We are at the brink of depleting our non-renewable resources. Let us not destroy what is meant to protect us.

I believe eco tourism is not just a concept but a way of uniting conservation, communities, and sustainable travel.

My focus is to create awareness about green laws that will aid in promoting eco tourism globally and my journey begins in Goa, the heart of India’s travel destination. The environment here prospers due to its locals who have taken keen interest in preserving what nature has given them.

I have actively engaged myself in several NGOs that help create awareness about factors that are changing the course of nature and how we can prevent, preserve, and adapt to it.

What tip can you share to promote this year's theme, Eco Tourism?
