Jericho Rosales understands where John Lloyd Cruz is coming from

Jericho Rosales feels sad  he will no longer co-star with John Lloyd Cruz in the upcoming teleserye “Bridges.” But Jericho understands where his fellow actor is coming from.

“I’m very sad but I understand certain things. There are details I cannot mention. Of course, yung oportunidad to work with John Lloyd, maraming taong nalungkot,” Jericho said at the press conference of the  2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival on Tuesday, November 4.

John Lloyd admitted in a previous press interview that he's still negotiating his new contract with ABS-CBN.

‘Valid reasons’

Jericho knows where John Lloyd is coming from.

“I cannot speak for him, he has valid reasons. I respect the guy so much. An actor has a right to say yes or no, depends sa sitwasyon or sa panahon. I’ve also declined some projects before. Some people say, ‘Sayang yung project, bakit mo pinakawalan?’ I have my reasons and I am happy now.”

Xian Lim has reportedly been cast in “Bridges,” which also stars Maja Salvador. But it's not yet clear whether Xian will take over John Lloyd's role or not.

Jericho feels flattered Xian is excited to work with him.

“I’ve heard that he’s been working hard on the role. For me, as an actor, I’ll give him my support.”

Jericho likes it that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will reportedly remake “Pangako Sa’Yo,”  the soap which originally starred himself (Jericho) and Kristine Hermosa.

“Kung magkakaroon ng remake, sino ba ako para magsabing hindi? Pero kung tatanungin nyo ako, they deserve to be Angelo and Ina (his and Kristine's characters in the soap). Kasi ang lakas-lakas ng love team nila. “Pangako Sa’Yo” yung foundation ng love story nila,” Jericho said.

“Pangako Sa’Yo’s”  other outstanding characters are Madame Claudia, Amor Powers and Governor Eduardo Buenavista.

“But let’s also not forget sila Madame Claudia, Amor Powers and si Governor. Si KathNiel, solved na iyan eh. Yung tatlo, who were also at that time ay pinagkakaguluhan ng mga tao. Doon ako excited makita,” Jericho added.

The actor shared that he politely declined an offer to reprise his role in “Pangako sa ‘Yo” because he would rather enjoy watching the soap. He clarified that he has no problem working again with Kristine, who is now married to Oyo Sotto and has children by him.

Jericho stars in the Cinema One film entry “Red,” directed by Jay Abello.

“Love story ng underground officer sa Bacolod ito. Inaayos nya ang  problema ng mga politiko at ordinaryong tao, pero hindi niya kayang ayusin ang problema niya.”

The Cinema One Originals Film Festival will run from November 9 to 18 at Fairview Terraces, Glorietta, Trinoma and Greenbelt Atmos Theatres.

“May love story, may action, very entertaining. It’s an exciting event. Yung award, matagal ko na binitawan yung pag-iisip ng award, sagabal lang iyan. We’re here to just have fun. Definitely, nag-enjoy ako sa paggawa ng pelikula,” Jericho said.
