Iza Calzado wants to have a baby by age 35
Kapamilya actress Iza Calzado isn’t tying the knot anytime soon, but when she does, the 31-year-old actress plans to have a baby by age 35.
“Hindi pa ako handa. Siyempre hindi pa naman ako ikakasal this year definitely. Ewan ko next year, but I really don’t know when. But when I get married, I want to travel first and take some time off. So, I’m trying to target 35 (years old) to have a kid,” Iza said in an interview at the family day of her new teleserye “Hawak Kamay” at Hospicio de San Jose on Tuesday, June 24.
Parenting ideas
Her relationship with boyfriend Ben Wintle is going strong, but they are still working on their respective priorities to even plan a wedding.
But she has an idea of how it is to be a parent.
“I have a stepbrother so I get to experience what it’s like to be a parent. It’s a big responsibility. I am not yet ready to have my own.”
Iza is surrounded by child stars -- Zaijian Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Andrea Brillantes and Yesha Camille -- in her new teleserye with Piolo Pascual and Nikki Gil.
“Working with the kids, sobrang galing nila. Nakaka-inspire sila. Ganado kami magtrabaho,” Iza notes.
Charity event
She and the rest of the “Hawak Kamay” cast visited the children and elderly of Hospicio de San Jose, where they performed and distributed gifts.
“We are so fortunate na mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon na makapagcelebrate para sa simula ng aming teleserye by giving back, giving awareness, to show people that being a family is not just through blood; but giving love to a child and making them secure,” Iza said.
Dealing with pressure
The actress admits she feels pressured to make her new teleserye click because “Starting Over Again,” her movie with Piolo, was a box-office hit.
“Sa kahit ano naman, hindi ko talaga dinidibdib yung pressure kasi wala ka rin magagawa. You can only do so much at the end of the day, you lift everything to God. Kahit sa Hollywood, you never know it’s a hit unless it’s out. Basta I always give my best. I’m very confident na it’s (“Hawak Kamay”) is a good material.”
