After hosting “Eat Bulaga” and various shows, Isabelle Daza, the newest Kapamilya star, wants to focus on acting.

“I still love hosting, sobrang love ko ang hosting. And I had a great time sa “Eat Bulaga” and it's really where my heart is syempre, but I also want to try new things,” Isabelle told reporters at the press conference of Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2,” where she acts alongside Dingdong Dantes, Joey Marquez, Lotlot de Leon and KC Montero.

Extra challenge

“I want a new chapter sa buhay ko. So sabi ko maybe I’ll try acting para to challenge myself din,” she said.

Isabelle’s role is extra challenging.

“Isa akong doktora na naggagamot ng mga aswang. May twist sa story. Parang partners in crime kami dito ni Dingdong.”

After signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN last November, Isabelle has been busy doing workshops for her upcoming teleserye “Nathaniel” with Gerald Anderson and Shaina Magdayao.

Different experience

“Sobrang iba. Iba yung experience kasi bago kami mag-taping, kailangan ko mag workshop. Doon pa lang, kailangan kami ni Gerald we get to know each other and yung mga scenes, may mga halikan factor na, eh hindi ko pa siya kilala. Sa ABS-CBN, work is work.”

Isabelle also shared that her new work environment first took her by surprise. She realized that she has to be serious in learning her craft as an actress.

“Hindi mo iisipin yung pagka-arte, like 'Gosh, I don't want.' You can’t make arte there. Work is work and kung kailangan siya, gagawin mo talaga. So talagang na-shock ako. Then after that, I realized na ganito pala talaga dito.”

Isabelle feels at home in ABS because fellow Kapamilya actors welcomed her with open arms.

'Welcome Kapamilya'

“Si Gerald and si Shaina, napakabait. Yung mga nakikita ko, sila Luis (Manzano) and Billy (Crawford), they were telling me na 'Welcome Kapamilya'. You don't feel out of place and they want you feel at home.”

“Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2,” directed by Erik Matti, also stars Julie Anne San Jose, Hannah Ledesma, Abra, Ramon Bautista, Jun Sabayton and Bogart the Explorer.  It opens December 25 in theaters nationwide.
