Billy Crystal Crashes David Letterman's Monologue With an Emmy Agenda (Video)

Billy Crystal dropped in on David Letterman‘s monologue on “Late Show” for what seemed like an impromptu visit. He said that he was simply walking by and wanted to visit his good friend. But he had an ulterior motive.

Letterman asked him how his summer was going, and Crystal responded, “It's just a quiet summer. Same old, same old.”

But then he took a quick turn and stared directly into the camera, adding, “Except for my recent Emmy nomination for '700 Sundays.’ Voting has started Academy members.”

He turned back to Letterman and asked him, “What's new with you?”

After a moment, Letterman responded sadly, “I think I have low T [testosterone].”

In his final year on the air, Letterman was shut out of the Emmys once again. After getting nominations for 16 seasons straight from 1993-2009, “Late Show” has not seen a nomination since. Letterman is set to retire sometime in 2015, making way for his successor Stephen Colbert.
