'Bates Motel' Star Has a Shocking New Look! Plus: Comic-Con Details

Someone is checking into Bates Motel next season with a completely new look.

Olivia Cooke, who plays Norman Bates's friend Emma, has shaved her head. But don't think Emma's gone off the deep end like her pal; instead, Cooke let go of her locks for a role as a young girl diagnosed with leukemia in the movie, Me & Earl & the Dying Girl, based on the popular YA novel.

It'll be interesting to see how Bates Motel producers work Cooke's appearance into the third season of the A&E drama — if they do at all. Maybe the actress will sport a wig when the cast returns to filming.

Cooke debuted her newly-shorn head at Comic-Con in San Diego, where she joined co-stars Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, and Nestor Carbonell — as well as executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin — on a panel to discuss their show.

Cuse hinted that Season 3 will be a kind of reset, after the blood bath that ended Season 2.

"We're going to sort of see the consequences of what happened: basically that we kind of killed everybody, except for our series regulars on the show. So that leaves kind of a big void in White Pine Bay, and it'll be very interesting to see what happens," he said.

The producers also announced the return of two cast members — Kenny Johnson as Caleb, Dylan's uncle and newly-discovered biological father; and Nicola Peltz, fresh off her role in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Last we saw her character, Bradley, she was on the run after murdering Gil. Now, she's heading back to town, albeit toward the end of Season 3.

"Bradley has a special place in Norman's heart," Cuse said. "She's part of the Bates family and we're bringing her back because we always planned that there was another chapter for her character."
