Kim Kardashian's Dos and Don'ts of Social Media: There Are Rules, People!

Stop us if you've heard this one: Kim Kardashian walks into a tech conference to talk to a room full of industry insiders and tech journalists about her social media best practices.

Before you laugh, keep in mind that with nearly 25 million Twitter followers and an additional 20.4 million Instagram followers, Kardashian undeniably qualifies as a social media expert. Not to mention that app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which may (or may not) rake in about $200 million this year alone. It's a brave new world, in which the world's most famous woman is also one of the most successful people in Silicon Valley.

And then there's that most-liked Instagram photo of all time.

Kardashian spoke with Re/code's Kara Swisher at the Code Mobile conference in Half Moon Bay, California, on Monday. Their chat covered all things tech, including why Kardashian fears the extinction of the BlackBerry and her own social media best practices.

For starters, don't expect to see any photos from bathtime with North West any time soon; Kardashian said she makes a rule of not sharing any private moments like those on any of her social feeds. She also said she has a "three-image rule" on Instagram.

"In the same setting, I try not to do more than three [pictures]," she said onstage. "It oversaturates my feed."

Kardashian also called Instagram her favorite app at the moment: "I think you can be really creative, and a little more intimate. It has more texture than just words, obviously."

Kardashian also cleared up a rumor that she gets paid $10,000 per tweet. "I would have been tweeting every two seconds if it was true," she joked. But Kardashian was a little more coy when asked about the reported $200 million haul for Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.

"We’ll never talk dollars and cents," she said. "It could be more. It could be less. It’s been very good to me."

As for what device she's using to keep her ravenous social following satisfied, it's an iPhone. But Kardashian says that her heart still belongs to the BlackBerry. "It’s my heart and soul, I love it and I’ll never get rid of it," Kardashian told the crowd. "I do have an iPhone, and I use it for photos. But if you write an email and you need to type fast — I like having the [key]board. They don’t even have them in stores anymore. I buy them on eBay. It’s a BlackBerry Bold. And I like to have three in my room that I line up in case they break.”

When Swisher suggested Kardashian become the struggling cell phone's spokesmodel, Kardashian joked back, "I’m going to make a call after this."

And while Kardashian, between her various social feeds and then long-running show about her family, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is perhaps the Queen of Oversharing, she revealed there is one app she's not using: Snapchat. "Sometimes there's too much out there," Kardashian said. "My little sisters use it, but I just don't have the time."

Perhaps we could all learn something from Kim Kardashian.
